Inklings in Western Australia is funded by the NDIA for a three-year pilot period that commenced in November 2023 – we are now over halfway through the pilot period.
In this time, more than 480 families have been referred or self-referred into the program, and nearly 300 have commenced the program.
There are two ways families can be referred to the Inklings program:
Since the program’s launch, 62% of babies who have commenced the program are boys and 38% are girls.

Families who are engaging in the WA pilot have been from across the state, including 76% from metropolitan areas, 14% regional and 7% remote.

Inklings sessions are delivered through three modes: in-clinic, home visits, and telehealth. So far throughout the pilot in WA, 66% of sessions have been delivered in-clinic, 28% via telehealth and 6% at home.
